For those who can afford healthcare - we're loving our doctors:
Bottom Line: Health insurance remains the greatest obstacle in obtaining affordable healthcare (given that the average per person cost of health insurance is $6500 per year before you ever even obtain any healthcare) but the good news is that for those who can afford to obtain healthcare the experience with the medical service providers has been overwhelmingly positive. According to Pew Research we love our doctors. Here's what they found:
- 15%: Left confused about ongoing care
- 23%: Felt rushed
- 80%: Felt fully informed about their medical needs
- 84%: Felt their doctor/service provider cared about their health
- 87%: Had the reason(s) they obtained care fully addressed
Those are pretty strong scores. By compared the iPhone is the most approved about product in the US at around 91% satisfaction. So doctors are posting scores that are almost as positive as the most satisfying product available. Now if we could only break the back of the insurance-first model so more could afford to see them and obtain high quality care...
