Most vets are on the No Way VA bandwagon - the latest:
Bottom Line: The VA's many problems and slow bureaucratic solutions have been well documented in recent years. While President Trump has taken action to improve medical choice and VA accountability... https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/04/27/presidential-executive-order-improving-accountability-and-whistleblower most veterans are clamoring for medical choice according to that latest polling from the Concerned Veterans for America. They found the following:
- 92% of vets think improving healthcare for veterans should be a priority in Washington
- 98% want the current VA system reformed
- 98% favor increased medical choice outside of the VA
Those are remarkable numbers that speak right to the heart of the issue. Why is it that veterans have largely been restricted to obtaining care through an often inefficient government run medical system? You'd think that veterans that have fought for our freedom would have at least as much medical choice as someone on Medicaid wouldn't you? Why shouldn't veterans be able to receive the annual amount of money we spend on VA care for any medical use they see fit? They of all people have earned freedom of choice, yet are ironically the ones least likely to have it.
