Alcee’s going to Alcee but what about his voters? Hysterical Headlines

Hysterical Headlines for August 21st – Alcee’s going to Alcee but what about his voters?

Bottom Line: Your daily doses of nonsense in the media and my takes on them...

Excerpt: Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings joked about President Donald Trump drowning in the Potomac River during a campaign rally on Sunday night, prompting laughter from the audience.

Hastings, a longtime congressman who represents a heavily Democratic district in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, relayed a joke he learned from former state representative Barry Silver’s son.

“Do you know the difference between a crisis and a catastrophe?” Hastings said, quoting Silver’s son. “A crisis is if Donald Trump falls into the Potomac River and can’t swim... and a catastrophe is if anybody saves his ass.”

Hot Take: Freaking hilarious isn’t it? And that’s why this has been all over the news. Oh wait... But really, who’s surprised to hear this coming from Alcee (and clearly Rabbi Silver should feel proud about how he’s raised his son)? The bigger question is what this says about the people who support him. That question is even less comfortable to consider.

Hot Take: I’ll make it in four words. She’s not a Socialist. That’s how low the bar now is on the left.

Until Tomorrow...
