Some Teachers Had "In God We Trust" Signs Removed

And these are the educators that want more money with higher property taxes?

Bottom Line: These are stories you shouldn't miss and my takes on them...

  • After complaints PBC schools will replace “In God We Trust” signs with state seal – PB Post

Excerpt: After weeks of complaints about “In God We Trust” signs posted this year on school campuses, Palm Beach County public schools have decided to replace the signs with the state seal.

A new state law requires all Florida public schools this year to post the phrase “In God We Trust” in a “conspicuous place” on campus. The county’s schools complied by posting the wording in boldface paper printouts, usually in the school’s main office.

But after complaints from teachers who saw the signs as an affront to the principle of church-state separation, the school district decided that posting the state seal – which includes the phrase in small print – would be a less conspicuous way to comply with the rule.

Hot Take: I’ll cut to the chase. Any educator that’s advancing the notion of separation of church and state needs an education before being paid to educate others. I don’t believe there’s a longer running falsehood that’s more egregious than this one. If you don’t understand the establishment clause of the first amendment of the US Constitution, why should we believe that you grasp other concepts well enough to educate future generations?

This is the actual constitutional language:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

That means that there can’t be a “Church of Florida” a la The Church of England and there certainly isn’t any language that pertains to a separation of church and state. In fact, starting with the very Declaration of Independence ours founders made clear God was a cornerstone of the founding of this nation. Not only is God referenced four times in the Declaration, even the marginally aware, should remember that “our rights come from our creator”. And the ratification of the U.S. Constitution itself cites “In The Year of Our Lord”.

It’s for these reasons that our currency can and does include God, likewise our Pledge of Allegiance and the very Seal of Florida being used to comply with the new state law. If our educators are so willfully ignorant and wrong about this, what other falsehoods are being perpetuated in our schools?
