- Covid cases continued to trend higher on Thursday. With 10,262 new COVID-19 cases reported Thursday, Florida’s weekly trend for daily cases stands at 7,909 – the highest since February 14th.
- Entering Friday gas prices were flat statewide. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas remains $4.50 per gallon. Prices in South Florida remain well above the state average with prices ranging from $4.55 per gallon in Miami-Dade to $4.65 per gallon in Monroe and Palm Beach County – the highest price in the state.
- A Census summary report shows Florida was one of the states undercounted in the 2020 Census. According to the Bureau's analysis the undercount was significant enough to have potentially resulted in a lost congressional seat and an additional Electoral College vote.
- A new FIU study of South Florida bonefish found extensive effects of flushed pharmaceuticals. Each of the 93 fish sampled for the study tested positive for pharmaceutics. Among the drugs the fish tested positive for were antidepressants, blood pressure meds, and valium.
