It was without a doubt art mirroring life. The problem with sequels is how many really ever live up to the original? Last night’s production was the lower rent version for sure. The committee production last night came with a price tag of $9.3 million in dead money, was produced by James Goldston as opposed to Robert De Niro and left you thinking what exactly? As in you’re likely left thinking...wtf? That’s because in the grand scheme of things we care about, well consider these headlines from even leftist news outlets. 2. Distract us from reality. Gas is nearly $5 per gallon. We’ve experienced the biggest inflation adjusted decline in the affordability of life in 41 years. Our children are being taught to be racists and sexually experimental – which they should have “pride” in, in lieu of reading, writing and arithmetic leading us to the bottom of the developed world in education outcomes with a bunch of sexually confused kids who hate the country. We have a border crisis replete with a real-time record caravan of illegals on the march. Safety in cities is the lowest in decades. People are literally trying to assassinate Supreme Court Justices - with the rhetorical support of Congressional Democrats. But yeah, Trump the bad Orangeman and January the 6th. That’s the priority here. The irony of the January 6th storming of the Capitol, is that the radicals who stormed the Capitol that day haven’t proven to be as destructive to the country as the actual lawful occupants of it have been since. And the cheesy sequel they produced at your expense wasn’t entertaining – unless you viewed through the prism of Mystery Science Theater. Just don’t try that with Hunter Biden’s laptop videos. There’s way too much reality in that production. It’s much worse than Monica’s blue dress. Speaking of Congressional jokers... 
3. Congressional Democrats want the issue, not the “fix”. Whatever your view may be of federal gun control policy, here’s the reality. Democrats want the issue come November, not the “fix” - as they see it, today. One of the age-old political posturing tricks in Congress is to advance legislation you know won’t become law, because you’d rather run on the issue as opposed to actually addressing the perceived problem. Last week 21 House Democrats penned a letter to Speaker Pelosi pleading with her to break up each of the gun control proposals being considered in the House. Quoting the letter... We fully expect each of these bills will pass in the House, but as we focus on actually delivering for a hurting America, passing each bill individually will ensure that every commonsense measure we are putting forth arrives in the U.S. Senate with the maximum bipartisan support it may garner, recorded through individual votes – giving us the maximum chance of passing gun violence prevention legislation in the Senate and into law. What did Pelosi do? Ignored the letter, ignored the 21 Democrats, and put together a package of gun control legislation she knew would be DOA in the Senate, but that she could claim “credit” for passing. And all without doing anything to actually “fix” the issue. All but 21 Democrats in the House would rather have the issue, as opposed to doing anything that would represent by their own standards a fix, for what they call “gun violence” which of course isn’t possible because guns lack the capacity to be violent. Which takes us back to what the spectacle in Washington was this week...all for show.
