Record Republican Advantage - Florida’s Voter Registration by Party

Record Republican Advantage - Florida’s Voter Registration by Party

Bottom Line: Election Day is under five weeks away and the Florida Division of Elections’ latest voter registration update is in reflecting all voter registrations as of the start of September. And in that sprint, there’s a first which is set to play out. Republicans leading in voter registration for the first time in any election cycle in Florida’s history. While Republican registrations first topped Democrats last November, the GOP’s momentum has only continued to grow in Florida since.

These are the changes in year-to-date voter registration information:

  • DEM: -116,975 (-208 last month)
  • GOP: +109,567 (+38,521 last month)
  • NPA/Other: +114,978 (+31,362 last month)

The current breakout of registered voters looks like this...

  • DEM: 34.5%
  • GOP: 36.4%
  • NPA/Other: 29.1%

For the third consecutive month Republicans out registered NPA’s and the Republican voter registration advantage over Democrats is now a record 269,644 voters. That’s an advantage which grew by an additional 38,729 voters over the past month alone. For comparison's sake, Democrats held a 97,215-voter advantage coming out of the 2020 Election Cycle. This supports the notion that Florida’s increasingly moving from being a purple state into a red-state territory and just in time for what’s shaping up to be a historically good midterm election cycle for Republicans.
