Political Reality & The Media Elites – Top 3 Takeaways – November 3rd, 2022
- Reality is sinking in. Maybe even for President Biden, who is fresh off of his latest mega, MAGA Republican rant (what’s the over-under that he even remembers he’s done that before?). So, Biden joined forces Tuesday night with Charlie Crist and Val Demmings in a rally at the Florida Memorial University gym which, if you removed the school’s band members and cheerleaders, would have effectively removed about a quarter of the attendees, for perspective. While there, he once again talked of his success in cutting the deficit (the national debt has already increased by over $4 trillion on his watch amid record deficit spending), the war in Iraq (as opposed to Ukraine) - which is where he once again said his son Beau died (he died in Maryland). The cautionary tale here is that being a pathological liar doesn’t age well. But the other reality which hasn’t sunk in is what’s appearing increasingly likely to happen next week. Republicans winning control of congress. In his speech, before...dozens(?) of people he said it was a fact that Democrats would win two more senate seats and codify Roe. In addition to being so very Catholic of him, apparently, the memo still hasn’t made it to Joe that running an election on whacking as many babies in the whom as possible hasn’t been going so well. Or for that matter that most Americans don’t support abortions past 15-weeks, or even 6-six for that matter. But the biggest reality check for the president is his statement of “fact” regarding the senate. - Projected Republicans to gain control of the Senate. Amid a surge in polling showing a surge in Republican support generally, and most specifically in key senate races across the country, 538 now has Republicans projected to win 51 senate seats this cycle. That equals the best performance they’ve projected at any point this cycle – while RealClear is now projecting 54 GOP seats – which is also their high-water mark for the cycle. Things aren’t looking good for ‘Ole Joe – let alone Florida’s original Orangeman and favorite political Chameleon, Charlie Crist and Val Demmings who added considerably to the turnout Tuesday night with their own attendance. Although, his senate predication of “fact” appears likely to be as factual as pretty much anything else he talks about, so it’s not as though his credibility is at stake. With the GOP map expanding and Democrats running scared in races clear across the country, many have wondered why Biden prioritized a “rally” in Miami Gardens, when not even Democrat politicos seriously think Crist or Demmings will win at this point. Well, there are two reasons. Who, in a competitive race, this side of Fetterman wants to be seen in public with him? Infer what you will about Crist and Demmings from that comment, so it’s not like there’s a clamoring across the country for some of that sweet Joe Biden political action. But mostly, because Joe Biden himself is afraid of the implications of Democrats losing Miami-Dade once and for all. If Florida’s elections go down the way they’re currently pacing, the biggest storyline emanating from our state won’t be DeSantis and Rubio’s reelections. It’ll be Miami-Dade having flipped this cycle. That’s a potential reality Biden and Democrats generally are terrified of. But back to the senate candidates for a moment...here’s another reality that should be sinking in...
- Maybe the Republican candidates aren’t so bad after all? Remember when we were told by the media elites, Donald Trump couldn’t win? It’s looking increasingly likely that by this time next week, it’ll be safe to reflect on all of the Trump-backed gubernatorial and senate candidates who won, which we were told by the media elites were “bad candidates” who couldn’t win. If nothing else, you can count on the elitest media being consistent. While I am willing to maintain my position, that John Fetterman is the worst candidate for US Senate in any state of my lifetime (seriously, who wants to debate me on that one?), I’ve long found it to be as funny as it is offensive that we’re told by the media “inteligencia”, who is supposed to be a “good” or a “bad” candidate. And notice how their leftist candidates are seemingly never “bad” candidates. That’s a designation which seemingly can only occur in the Republican nomination processes. Should Republicans gain control of the US Senate in this year’s midterm elections, which now even 538, which literally still has commentary on its projection site about “bad” Republican candidates, even as some have taken leads in their models. It’s voters in individual states that tell the media elites who the bad candidates are. That is unless it is John Fetterman we’re talking about. It’s just a fact that he’s bad. And if by chance Uncle Festerman wins next week, that would mean Pennsylvania has a problem with bad voters. But otherwise, the point remains. Maybe, just maybe the media elites are wrong again and the Republican candidates aren’t so bad after all? Or maybe the dirty little secret is that the media elites are just afraid that they’d be more effective than the “good” candidates.
