  • Power Outages remain a big story across the state this morning with just over 2.5 million, or just over a fifth of the state lacking power. Just under 2% of Palm Beach County lacks power, with about 14% without power in Martin County and just over a quarter of Indian River County still without power this morning where there are widespread reports of downed trees on power lines resulting from tornadic activity.
  • All area schools in the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast remain closed today and will resume on Tuesday following a scheduled day off on Monday in observance of Columbus Day.

  • Brightline, Palm Tran and Tri-Rail are all resuming service as usual today.
  • Palm Beach International Airport has resumed normal operations as well, however with extensive flight cancellations over the previous two days, you’re advised to check your flight’s status in advance to going to the airport.
  • The Palm Beach County Emergency Operations center is still operating at Level 2, or partial activation in response to needs across the community resulting from Hurricane Milton.
  • Showers are possible throughout the day again today with highs in the low 80’s -which is typical for this time of year. The National Hurricane Center is tracking two systems. Tropical Storm Leslie continues to track across the mid-Atlantic and isn’t of concern. A disturbance off the coast of Africa has a 40% chance of development. Milton quickly dissipated once moving offshore.
