  • A last-minute legal effort to prevent a Wednesday vote by the Palm Beach County Commission on the proposed AI-data center dubbed Project Tango was rejected by a judge on Monday. The final commission vote on the project will take place tomorrow as planned.  
  • The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office released the results of the attempted teen takeover of the Mall at Wellington Green in June. According to PBSO 62 teens were removed from the property with the assistance of mall security with seven that were non-complaint deemed to be trespassing and with one teen arrested. The sheriff’s office and mall officials were aware of the attempted takeover in advance through social media postings and planned accordingly. 
  • The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is warning of an impersonation scam targeting residents. The sheriff’s office said phone scammers are calling residents impersonating law enforcement or threatening legal action unless credit card information is provided to resolve the matter. The sheriff’s office reminds residents that they’ll never call requesting money. 
  • Jonathan Dickinson State Park will temporarily be without boat or canoe rentals at the park after the vendor who operated the concession stand at the park had their contract expire without another vendor in place. 
  • It'll be partly cloudy and hot with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Today’s high will be in the low 90’s – warmer than usual for this date with a heat advisory in place from Palm Beach County south through Miami Dade. Similar weather is expected tomorrow with rain chances increasing throughout the week. The National Hurricane Center’s Tropical Weather Outlook remains clear without any tropical cyclone activity expected over the next seven days. Persistent Saharan dust from the coast of Africa extends over most of the southern and mid-Atlantic with dust extending over the Caribbean, Cuba, through the Gulf of America and covering most of Florida. 
  • The price of gas fell by three cents per gallon on Monday, with the average price for regular unleaded fuel is currently $3.78 per gallon statewide. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.94 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.78, it’s $3.80 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.78 per gallon.
