Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott is running for re-election and there are candidates in the Democrat party who hope to challenge him in November.
They include Stanley Campbell, a retired U.S. Navy pilot who operates a global healthcare technology company that is responsible for preventing Medicare and Medicaid fraud.
He says that if he goes up against Scott this Fall, he has what it takes to win.
"I'm a businessman and I can tell you, I see the direction of Florida and it's not very good. Rick Scott has got a number of vulnerable points. As a business person and not a politician I would not be in the race unless I know I can beat him...not just think I can beat him."
Campbell says he works across the aisle and has done so in his business career with success.
His wife, Cheryl Campbell is the Assistant Secretary for Administration in President Biden's Department of Health and Human Services.
Campbell's most viable opponent in the Democrat primary is former South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. Her campaign did not respond to requests for an interview.
The other two candidates in the primary are Rod Joseph and Brian Rush.
Sen. Scott also faces a couple of candidates in a Republican primary. They are John Columbus and Keith Gross.
