DeSantis Comments On Campaign Donors Now Facing Charges

Governor Ron DeSantis responds to questions about a photograph showing him with one of two businessmen charged with campaign finance violations.

The picture was taken at the governor's Election Night watch party and shows him face-to-face with Lev Parnas.

"I didn't know any of this stuff that's come out at the time. (It) seemed legitimate to us and so once we saw what had happened last week, we went ahead and disgorged that money to the Treasury."

DeSantis says he knows Lev Parnas, but not Igor Fruman, the other man charged last week.

"This is a guy who, at RNC functions, Trump Victory functions, he was at a lot of these things. (He) was, I think, viewed as one of the top supporters of the president in Florida."

Parnas and Fruman donated $50,000 to a Political Action Committee, which the governor has given back.

The pair was arrested for allegedly attempting to funnel foreign money into U.S. political campaigns.

The men are accused of playing key roles in Rudy Giuliani's efforts to launch a Ukrainian corruption investigation against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
