Thousands Of Teachers "Rally In Tally" Today

Thousands of teachers across Florida skipping school to be at the state capitol today for the "Rally In Tally" demanding proper funding for public schools.Governor Ron DeSantis declares 2020 the "year of the teacher" and wants to raise starting salaries to 47-thousand-500-dollars. Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco says it's a great idea, but long-term educators need a pay bump too. A Senate panel is meeting today to consider the starting salary increase.Governor DeSantis also wants to repeal the "Best and Brightest" teacher-bonus program, replacing it with a 300-million-dollar bonus plan.
