Voters To Decide On Making It Harder To Pass Constitutional Amendments

Thanks to a ruling on Thursday from the state's highest court, Florida voters will decide whether to make it harder to amend the state Constitution.

The Florida Supreme Court has given unanimous approval to a ballot measure that would require future amendments to be approved by voters twice in order to take effect.

Currently, they go on the ballot in only one election, and they take effect if they get 60 percent approval from voters.

The proposal will appear on the November ballot as Amendment 4.
