Miami-Dade County Mayor, Carlos Gimenez, has issued a countywide curfew from 10 p.m. Saturday night until 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The City of Miami has also issued an immediate dispersal order for protesters in the Downtown Miami area.

Miami will have its own 8 p.m. curfew for Sunday night. Essential workers are exempt from the curfew if they are traveling to or from work.

According to city officials, any person defying the curfew will be arrested.

Thousands of protesters in downtown Miami called for justice for George Floyd Saturday afternoon. Floyd died in Minneapolis police custody this past week. Officer Derek Chauvin has been charged with 3rd murder in Floyd's death.

Miami protesters shut down Interstate 95 in both directions, looted and torched police cruisers.
