Parents in Boca Raton aren't happy after a middle school teacher posted on social media that he would summon Lucifer into the classroom.

Preston Smith teaches 8th grade language arts at Boca Raton Middle.

Last month he tweeted, "Satanist school teacher here. I'll be ready to summon Lucifer into the classroom at every opportunity."

One mom telling CBS 12 News that "If you're going to push this out on social media, then you're going to push it on my child."

This isn't Smith's first foray into Satanist controversy. In 2016 and 2017, he got permission from the city to install satanic displays downtown.

Back then, the superintendent of Palm Beach County Schools said that Smith's first amendment right protected him while expressing his beliefs outside of the classroom. But this time his thoughts included the "classroom."

The Palm Beach County School District said the following in a statement this week:

"The District is monitoring this situation. Our priority is ensuring that educators do not deviate from the Standards, Scope, and Sequence as outlined by the Florida Department of Education or violate School Board Policy."
