Broward School Board Hosts Town Hall On Dangers Of Fentanyl

A town hall on the dangers of fentanyl being held at the Broward School Board building tonight as lawmakers tweak penalties for those distributing the opioid to children. Governor Ron DeSantis says he's making it a first-degree felony to possess, sell or manufacture fentanyl to look like candy. He's also adding a mandatory life sentence and a one-million-dollar penalty to anyone nabbed targeting kids. Florida leads the nation in fentanyl deaths, with nearly fifty-two hundred last year. The C-D-C says that's more than any other state in the country.
