LISTEN: Sun n Fun Starts in Lakeland

LAKELAND -- The Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo, often referred to as the Sun 'n Fun Fly-In, starts at Lakeland Linder Airport Tuesday (28th).

Sun 'n Fun started in 1974 and is the second-largest fly-in event in the US. It draws more than 200,000 attendees, including several thousand who arrive in their own planes. Some camp out at the airport for several days. Linder is briefly the busiest airport in the world during Sun 'n Fun.

The event includes displays of vintage and experimental aircraft, judging contests, events for pilots and aircraft owners, youth aerospace events, and demonstrations by military precision flying teams. This year the Navy's Blue Angels will perform in the late afternoon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sun 'n Fun's last day is Sunday, April 2nd.
