Young conservatives from all over the country say they want Donald Trump to be president again.

The former president overwhelmingly won a straw poll at the Turning Point U.S.A. Student Action Summit in West Palm Beach over the weekend.

Trump got almost 86 percent of the vote. Governor DeSantis, who wasn't at the conference, came in third at only four percent. Businessman Perry Johnson came in second with almost 8 percent of the vote.

Meanwhile, attendees tell CBS 12 News who their pick for the White House in 2024 is.

"I would vote for Donald Trump and if it wasn't even the top candidate nominated I'll still vote for him as a write-in candidate," said Jayden Antropov from Palm Beach County.

"Right now I'm leaning towards Trump. I'm a very avid Trump supporter and that is to say that he has my vote for now," according to a young woman identifying herself as Lyndsey Graham of Arizona.

She also shared her thoughts on what issues should be top-of-mind among candidates:

"I am very concerned about the candidates that aren’t speaking about the transgender movement, and what it looks like for doctors, parents, and responsible caretakers to allow children that can’t consent to these things, to do permanent damage to their bodies. I think that is a huge, huge concern in America."

"Another moral issue that’s on the ballot, is just some of the transgender stuff and gay marriage," said Gabriel, who traveled from Colorado "Marriage is defined, in the Bible between a man and a woman, that’s something God has instituted. So we don’t get to redefine that."

California business owner Pamela Jean Noble said she is keeping an open mind on who she will support in the Republican Presidential Primary. But she's more confident about what the key issue should be.

"We want to save babies obviously. We are very pro-life," said Noble. "But I also feel like once the baby is born, we need to protect them as well."
