The Martin County Sheriff's Office is looking for the person or people responsible for dumping several dogs in a wooded area.
Nine dogs, mostly female, were rounded up in an area off Cove Road, while a tenth is still on the loose.
Officials say the dog was spotted but ran away.
The Lhasa Apsos range in age from approximately four months to four years old and while they were matted and filthy, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast says they were otherwise doing well.
They will not be put up for adoption until after the Sheriff's investigation is complete and officials are hoping for the public's help in finding whoever dumped them.
If you have any information on who may have done this, or you saw one roaming and took custody of it, please call MCSO at 722-220-7060.
