Eight members of the Miami Beach Fire Department are en route to Tel Aviv as they volunteer for a two-week deployment in the war torn region. Captain Adonis Garcia says this is the right thing to do.The group is standing in for Israeli first responders who have been called up for military service. They will be stationed in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, or Haifa depending on the specific needs of the Emergency Volunteers Project. Local donations from Jewish organizations are paying for all travel expenses.
