Miami, FL - Tropical Storm Kirk, the eleventh named storm of the 2024 hurricane season, has formed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Currently located west of the Cabo Verde Islands, Kirk has reached maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and is expected to continue strengthening.
While Kirk is forecast to move west-northwest and potentially intensify into a major hurricane, current models indicate no threat to Florida.
The National Hurricane Center is closely monitoring the storm's trajectory and will provide updates as necessary.
In addition to Kirk, the NHC is also tracking several other weather systems, including Tropical Depressions Isaac and Joyce, as well as an area of interest in the Caribbean.
These systems have the potential to impact Florida in the coming weeks.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and prepared.
