Comedian Kathy Griffin is losing gigs over the distasteful pic of her holding a prop that was designed to look like the bloody head of President Donald Trump.
Griffin has lost her annual spot on CNN's New Year's Eve celebration, where she and Anderson Cooper ring in the new year. A statement from the network:
"CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program."
Earlier, the network had said it was considering its options, but condemned the photo:
“We found what she did disgusting and offensive. We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating our New Year’s Eve coverage and have made no decisions at this point."
Griffin and Cooper have been working side by side on December 31st since 2007.
Her now former co-host is upset as well.
TMZ reported that Barron Trump thought his dad had really been beheaded, when he saw news coverage of Griffin's work.

Griffin was scheduled to perform at a casino in New Mexico, but not any longer.
Griffin has also been dumped by Squatty Potty. I wasn't even aware that she endorsed the product that helps you, well go.
Anyway, here is a statement from Squatty Potty CEO Bobby Edwards:
"We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today. It was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for. In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility and tolerance."
To be fair, Griffin has apologized.
It's clear this move by Griffin goes way beyond politics, with even the daughter of Trump's political rival in the race for President calling her out.
