A Florida man was arrested for calling 911 to get a ride to Hooter's.
Brevard County deputies say 28-year old Jonathan Hinkle told emergency operators that his grandmother had a stroke in the parking lot of the Merrit Island Hooters, but deputies couldn't find the woman and she later said she did not have a stroke.
Hinkle is charged with misusing 911.
This story reminds me of other cases in which people were charged with the misuse of the 911 emergency system, which is set up to...you know, save lives.
Like the time the Fort Pierce woman became angry because McDonald's wouldn't sell her McNuggets:
There was also the guy in Naples earlier this year who called 911 to ask to be deported back to Guatemala.
And the Florida man who called 911 six times, asking to have an officer come harass him, so that he could sue the Sebastian Police Department.
