Gov. Scott Proclaims It "Pulse Remembrance Day"

Pulse Nightclub

Monday is the one year anniversary of the Pulse terror attack and Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed it "Pulse Remembrance Day."

Flags throughout Florida are at half-staff to remember those who were lost.

Events have been going on in the Orlando area for the past week to honor the 49 victims killed by Omar Mateen inside the nightclub.

A ceremony will be held at the scene of the attack at 11 a.m..

At noon, churches in Orlando and around the world are expected to ring 49 bells in memory of each victim.

A rally was held on Sunday, outside the West Palm Beach City Hall, with more than 500 people reportedly in attendance.  It was part of the nationwide Equality March for Unity and Pride.

Attendees carried signs and gay-pride flags, and Mayor Jeri Muoio and three city commissioners showed up to speak and show support.

The local event was organized by Compass, a nonprofit LGBTQ community center.
