Palm Beach Ups The Amount Of Money For Trump Visits By $30,000

President Trump Departs White House En Route To New Jersey

The amount of money that the town of Palm Beach wants to set aside to protect President Trump on future visits has increased.

At Tuesday's budget meeting with the Town Council, the initial $227,000 went up to $257,000 and town officials expect to be reimbursed about a third of that from the federal government.  Officials say reimbursements don't cover the cost for law enforcement to deal with protests.  A portion of the budget is spent on equipment such as message boards, signage and extra fencing.

Final approval for the town's budget is still a few months away.

While it's been a while since the President has been in town, he's visited seven times since inauguration.
