We've learned more about the death of a one year old who was found in a hot car in Delray Beach.
Khayden Saint Sauveur died at the hospital Saturday. The Department of Children and Families says his body temperature had reached 107 degrees by the time he was discovered in the car outside his father's home.
DCF investigators say the boy was supposed to be supervised by his grandfather and great aunt while his father was at work. The grandfather had fallen asleep and the great aunt left the home, while Khayden and his two older cousins watched TV.
The kids were known to play in the car, where Khayden was eventually found after the grandfather woke up and noticed the child was missing. Investigators believe the boy was inside the vehicle for more than an hour and a half with the doors and windows shut.
Khayden's mother was on her way to pick up her son when she learned the news. She's created a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses.
While a police spokeswoman says it appears to be an accident, and DCF says there have been no prior incidents involving the family, the investigation continues.
