A Palm Beach County judge has sentenced Dalia Dippolito to 16 years in prison, minus 163 days for time served.
The Boynton Beach woman was convicted of hiring someone she thought was a hitman to kill her husband.
The case made national headlines after police recorded undercover video of Dippolito offering money for her now former husband's death, later as she was told that Michael Dippolito had been murdered and finally her encounter at the police station with the man who was still alive.
Her attorneys were asking for a two year sentence. Prosecutors push for a 30 year sentence.
Dippolito was first convicted in 2011 and that was overturned on appeal. A second trial ended in a hung jury.
A defense motion seeking a fourth trial was denied a week ago. Dippolito's lawyers claim one of the jurors in the last trial was sleeping during testimony, but the judge said that wasn't true.
