Tropical Storm Emily is now a depression, over the Atlantic, after moving offshore of Vero Beach early Tuesday morning.
While our state got a lot of rain, and more scattered showers expected throughout the day, Governor Rick Scott has announced that there will be no discharges from Lake Okeechobee. The reason? The lake is a foot below its normal level for this time of year.
The latest measurement from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday puts the lake at 12.82 feet, which is within the range that they prefer to keep it.
