With school back in session, drivers throughout Palm Beach County are getting used to those school zones again.
It took some time in Boynton Beach where police gave out ten speeding tickets in just 45 minutes while on patrol near Crosspointe Elementary School.
Speed limits in that area are 20 miles per hour twice per day and fines can reach as high as 606 dollars. That's for going 30 miles plus over the speed limit. The lowest ticket will cost you 156 drivers for going up to 9 miles over.
During the first two weeks of school last year, 446 total tickets were given out to drivers speeding in school zones across the county.
Florida ranks second in the U.S. in the number of child pedestrian deaths, with 36 in 2015.
