Kravis Center Joins Palm Beach Zoo, 18 Others Moving From Mar-a-Lago

More organizations are moving their events from Mar-a-Lago, in the wake of President Trump's comments after the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Over the weekend, we received an emailed statement from Andrew Aiken, the President and C.E.O. of The Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society.  It said that the zoo had decided it's important to not allow distractions to deter the non-profit from its mission and culture.

This comes on the heels of a number of other organizations doing the same.

The Kravis Center early Monday became what the Palm Beach Post notes as the 20th organization to move to another venue.

For the zoo's part, we requested more information and asked if the non-profit would have any comment about the employees who rely on their shifts at Trump's Palm Beach estate, and will now be losing another opportunity to work.

We also wanted to know if the Palm Beach Zoo is concerned about losing the support of any donors due to their decision.

We received the following quote: "We are exploring venue options and have no additional comment at this time."

Meanwhile, there was a protest march toward Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.  The Palm Beach Post reports there were about 70 people taking part, shouting "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist U.S.A." as they crossed the Intracoastal along Southern Boulevard.
