Countdown to Zero is a public-private community collaboration, initiated by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, the Board of County Commissioners, and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, to bring animal welfare organizations together to end the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Palm Beach County.
More than 30 rescue groups will have pets available for adoption at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Lauren Ellis and Kaitlyn Seyler from Peggy Adams tell us that birds and rabbits will be available for adoption for the first time this year, along with the usual cats and dogs. You'll even find guinea pigs.
Part of this mission includes the largest adoption event in Palm Beach County. With this joined vision, rescues from around the county join annually in the Countdown to Zero adoption event. In a single day, hundreds of homeless animals are adopted into their forever homes.
Decreasing the pet population at Animal Care and Control means that less healthy animals will be euthanized for space or time.
Together, we can save lives and countdown to zero euthanasias in Palm Beach County.
