The Florida Health Care Association is holding an Emergency Preparedness Summit in Tallahassee Friday to talk about what went wrong at a nursing home in Broward during Hurricane Irma.
The number of elderly residents who have died after living in the facility for days without power or air conditioning is now up to ten.
An investigation discovered that staffers at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills delayed calling 911, didn't evacuate patients in a timely fashion and allowed body temperatures to get as high as 109 degrees.
The association has stripped the facility of its license.
Long-term care providers, utility companies, generator suppliers and emergency management officials will be among those taking part in the summit.
