Death Penalty Sought In Killer Clown Cold Case

Sheila Keen Warren

The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office says it will seek the death penalty in the killer clown cold case.

Sheila Keen Warren appeared in court on Tuesday morning, after arriving in the county from Virginia.

She was charged with first degree murder last month in a case from 27 years ago.

Prosecutors say the woman arrived at Marlene Warren's home in Wellington's Aero Club community, dressed as a clown and holding balloons and flowers.  She allegedly handed them to the victim before shooting her in the face.

Sheila later married Marlene Warren's husband, but there wasn't enough evidence at the time to charge her.

The 1990 case was reopened in 2014 and new DNA technology turned up evidence in the clown wig, linking the suspect to the murder.

She was denied bond.
