Plenty Of Storm Debris Piles Remain In PBC

Still have piles of storm debris in your yard and around your neighborhood?  Only a third of debris from Hurricane Irma has so far been picked up in Palm Beach County.

That's according to the Solid Waste Authority, which says nearly 1 million cubic yards of debris has been removed from neighborhoods since the storm passed.

Officials in some smaller municipalities, including Greenacres, tell us that every neighborhood there has been picked up, though another sweep is likely.

In many cases, homeowners associations are picking up the tab to get debris hauled off faster.

President Trump has signed an order to increase FEMA's share of debris-removal costs in Florida from 75 percent to 90%.
