World Diabetes Day is next week and this weekend, the Palm Beach Outlets is hosting an event to bring attention to the disease.
As of 2015, more than 30 million Americans had diabetes and it remains the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. That's according to the American Diabetes Association.
The Diabetes Coaltion of Palm Beach County and the Palm Healthcare Foundation will offer free diabetes risk screenings at the outlets tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will have nurses on hand, along with pharmacists and EMT's. There will be healthy cooking demonstrations featuring a chef from The Breakers and other activities.
