Spring Training doesn't start until February, but the folks at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches are already gearing up.
Season tickets went on sale last week and single game tickets will go on sale December 9.
Whether you go to watch the World Champion Houston Astros or the Washington Nationals, you'll notice some slight changes from last season.
'We'll have more parking available because just the construction trailers occupied some of the space in our northwest corner. Our largest area will be to the south, which this year will be our general parking only."
Ballpark General Manager Brady Ballard tells me that in the rush to get open, some finishing touches were left undone, until now.
"We do have a bar down the left field line...the 'Budweiser Sand Bar.' It's just much nicer looking. It got to be operational last year, but it wasn't in its finished state. Grab a drink and be able to see the game."
Ballard says there are a number of events that have been held there throughout the year.
"We partnered with Roger Dean (Stadium) on a number of events, and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission brought some high profile baseball tournaments and showcases to the area that numbered large numbers of hotel room nights, which is what we're here to do during the other times of the years...to drive that economic impact. We brought in almost 11,000 room nights between those two events aone."
There were high school baseball tournaments, a car show, a charity walk just last Friday and a concert will be held at the ballpark next month. Then, comes the second year of spring training after a successful first season.
"So now we're excited that there's a greater awareness. I don't think the Astros were the most high profile team last year, especially to folks here on the east coast. There's a new excitement and familiarity now with guys like Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa."
