There are 2 ways that you can help Toys for Tots this weekend in Palm Beach County.
The program that provides Christmas presents for kids who otherwise wouldn't get them, was started in 1947.
Marine Jesse Mejia is the local coordinator for Toys for Tots and tells us what sets this annual toy drive apart for many others.
"I just think it's a really neat experience to be able to hand your toy to one of the Marines in dress blues and then knowing that you made a difference I think is a different factor."
Kool 105.5 is holding "Mo and Sally's Dueling Toy Drive" on Saturday at three area Toys R Us stores, and Jesse says there will be a Marine at each location in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Royal Palm Beach.
Hundreds of local kids will benefit.
"I Think this year we had over a hundred 501 (c)(3) charities and churches reach out. Once we collect the toys, they all go to my warehouse."
From there, the toys are sorted and distributed to the non-profits and the Palm Beach County School District.
On Sunday, the annual Bill's Bike's Memorial Toy Run, which is a motorcycle parade, begins at the South Florida Fairgrounds and ends with a party at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach.
Riders can join in the run by showing up before Noon at the Fairgrounds, along with one or more new, unwrapped toys, or $10 per person. The parade's Grand Marshal is Chief PBSO Deputy Mike Gauger.
If you don't ride, you can simply show up at Dreher Park, and enjoy live music and food.
