Boca Raton Woman Competes On New TV Music Competition

22-year old Elanese Lansen is an FAU student, majoring in Communications.  She's a graduate of Olympic Heights High School and has high hopes of winning the new Fox TV singing competition, "The Four: Battle for Stardom," which premiers Thursday at 8 p.m.  The show features an all-star panel of judges, including Sean "Diddy" Combs and Meghan Trainor, and is hosted by Fergie from the Blackeyed Peas.

Elanese and her mother spent some time with 1290 WJNO and told us more about the show, and offered advice to parents of young kids who are aspiring singers or musicians.

She said YouTube is a great way to showcase someone's talents, but with the current climate of social media and the potential for unwelcome visitors who may want to take advantage of an opportunity online, Elanese and her mother agree that the parents should be in charge of the YouTube channel and the only ones who can interact with the public.  Hear more in the audio above.
