"Magical Parades." That's the theme of this year's South Florida Fair, which officially opens on Friday.
There will be a parade every single day, according to Fair President and CEO Rick Vymlatil.
"We are going to have Mardi Gras parades on both Tuesdays, but in addition to the Mardi Gras parade, we're going to have a variety of other parades as we go through the 17 days of the fair."
Vymlatil tells us other parade themes include St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest and a take-off on the Thanksgiving Day Parade, called "Thank a Farmer parade."
While those begin on Friday, the midway will be open Thursday night for the annual "Ride-a-Thon."
Rick says the price, including admission and unlimited rides, is $20, but there's a $5 off coupon online.
Throughout the run of the fair, Jan. 12-28, we'll be sharing details with you about different aspects of the event. In the meantime, listen to the interview above for a rundown of the entertainment and other information regarding this year's South Florida Fair.
