New Signs Go Up At Local Beaches After Ohio Dad Dies In Surf

New signs are being installed on many Palm Beach County beaches, in the wake of a deadly incident in April.  That's when a man from Ohio drowned while trying to save his kids from a rip current off the beach in Jupiter.

Dispatchers couldn't contact lifeguards and it took them more than six minutes to get an accurate location of the incident.

The three signs will warn swimmers when there is no lifeguard nearby, direct people to guarded beaches and remind them of the important beach access number used by first responders.  One of the signs also tells swimmers how to handle rip currents.

Palm Beach County says it will also install signs at some guarded beaches.

County officials also say they're working with the Town of Jupiter.
