Charity For Kids Of Fallen Soldiers Given Donation By Lion Country Safari

Lion Country Safari has given local non-profit Operation 300 a donation of more than $2,100.

The money was a result of a promotion with Chick fil-A, where discount admission coupons were sold in March.

The park donated a portion of the proceeds to the organization which was formed in honor of Navy Seal Aaron Vaughn of Martin County.  He was killed in action in Afghanistan back in 2011.

Operation 300 puts on adventure camps for children of fallen U.S. soldiers.

This week, representatives from Chick-fil-A and Lion Country Safari handed a check for $2,166 to Aaron's sister, Tara Baldwin (center row, on the right), at the park in Loxahatchee.

Lion Country Safari is open for the summer, while an expansion of the lion section is underway.  It wraps up on July 29th.

The rest of the 4-mile drive-through safari remains open, as well as the walk-through park and the splash playground for kids.

The adventure park is part of a Summer Savings Pass, which gets you admission throughout the summer to four parks for one price.  It's good for unlimited visits through September 30th.
