Veteran Suicide Front & Center At Lake Worth Event This Weekend

Bringing an end to Veteran suicide.  That's the mission of Troy "Sabo" Caicedo, an Army Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart.

Sabo is bringing his talents in entertainment to the first ever Spartan Pledge Day ceremony at Bryant Park in Lake Worth.

The event will feature live speakers and performers, which include Sabo doing his positive military-style hip-hop.  In our conversation, he shares a little of that and explains what the Spartan Pledge is all about.

Essentially, he is asking Veterans to pay attention to fellow Veterans that may be considering suicide and straight out ask them if that is the case.

Organizers of the Spartan Pledge Day event say there are an estimated 22 Veteran suicides per day, though Sabo contends that number is likely higher.

The event will shine the light on this crisis and proceeds will benefit charities that tend to Veterans who suffer from PTSD and other mental health issues.
