Florida Has 5 Of The 10 Best Retirement Cities In The U.S.A.

Retirees Enjoying Life

Florida has five of the ten best cities to retire, including the number one overall city.  This according to personal finance website WalletHub.  

Orlando holds the top spot, while Tampa comes in third.  

South Florida has the fifth and seventh best cities to retire in Fort Lauderdale and Miami respectively, while Cape Coral in Southwest Florida is 9th on the list.

5      Fort Lauderdale, FL

8      Austin, TX

The rankings are based on different metrics related to affordability, availability of activities for seniors, quality of life and health care.  

When it comes to the number one city in the country, Orlando, it ranks very high for affordability (7) and activities (7), but near the bottom of the list in quality of life (130).
