Florida Police Visit Elderly Resident A Year After Helping Her Survive Irma

As the Clearwater community was bracing for Hurricane Irma last year, a Houston woman called to voice concern about her 94-year old grandmother, who lives alone in Clearwater, depends on a walker and doesn't drive.

Clearwater Police Officer James Frederick and other officers brought supplies and food to help Betty Helmuth survive the storm.

In the year since, Frederick and the officers who showed up that day have continued to check up on Helmuth, even stopping by for her 95th birthday.

Fast forward to Monday, it was the one year anniversary of that first visit and the officers paid another visit to the woman, and took to Facebook to write that little did they know that the one visit would lead to a great relationship between them.
