Efforts are underway to help out the animals being housed at the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control shelter in suburban West Palm Beach.
The agency says they are swamped with pets right now and the folks at Two Men and a Truck Palm Beach are looking for your donations in their "Movers for Mutts" charity drive.
"We're collecting things like food, leashes, treats, old blankets, bedding, grooming items, even pet toys."
Franchise owner Joel Dowley tells me the items will be used by the animals and given as part of a care package to those who adopt pets from the shelter.
You can have Two Men and a Truck pick up donations or drop items off at local businesses that are taking part.
They're looking for businesses to collect from customers and employees.
"We'll be happy to bring them a small box that they can use to gather the donations and then we'll come pick them up. We want to try to make it as easy as possible for people."
Customers of Two Men and a Truck Palm Beach can simply hand items over to their movers and let them know they are for "Movers for Mutts."
Also, Joel wants you to know that despite the name, they are collecting for all types of animals, not just dogs. In fact, he says Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control's shelter even cares for horses.
The collection drive runs through November 30.
