Jupiter Farms Sanctuary Loses All Of Its Kangaroos After Escape

Seven kangaroos have been removed from an animal sanctuary in Jupiter Farms, where one of the animals escaped this week.

"Storm" got free sometime Monday night and a neighbor posted to social media video of it hopping down the street.

The five year old kangaroo was captured after two days of searches, but we're told that the owner of that animal and six other kangaroos voluntarily surrendered them to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on Friday.  Our CBS 12 partners report the kangaroos were removed due to security regulations at the home not being up to code.

An investigation continues into how Storm escaped.  Eric Westergard, who owns the sanctuary, could face misdemeanor charges if authorities uncover violations.
