A new event is going on this weekend in Jupiter. Beachtober Fest runs Saturday and Sunday at Carlin Park.
"It's the sister event of the Jupiter Seafood Festival. People were asking for a fall festival at the same park, so we thought 'why don't we put our own tweak on it since it's by the beach?' It's our own version of a fall event with barbecue and German food and live music."
Seven bands will be performing, including "Saturday Night Special," a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute show at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Samantha Russell Band wraps things up at 5 p.m. Sunday.
There will also be plenty of vendors on hand selling nautical items as well as gift ideas as we head closer to the holiday season.
There will be costume contests on Saturday for both kids and adults and a South Florida Cornhole tournament where someone will win $1,000.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are $10 each, with kids 12 and under getting in free and there is free parking.
