Driving Drunk Is A Scary Proposition, Use Tow To Go Instead

AAA has its Tow to Go program up and running for Halloween.

The auto club offers free rides home and tows for your vehicle within 10 miles.

It's intended as a last resort, if you didn't make better plans, but AAA and Budweiser suggest that first you try to designate a driver or consider a cab, Uber or another ride-sharing service.

If you need Tow to Go, the number to keep in your phone is 855-2-TOW-2-GO.  That's 855-286-9246.

Tow to Go is available through 6am on Thursday, November 1st.

Important Tow to Go guidelines:

  • Tow trucks can usually transport up to two people. If there are more people in your party, you will need to make other arrangements to get them home safely.
  • You can’t make an appointment to use Tow to Go. It is designed as a safety net for those that did not plan ahead. Always choose a Designated Driver before you have your first drink.
  • In some situations, AAA may need to make other arrangements to get an impaired individual a safe ride home.
  • Tow to Go may not be available in rural areas or during severe weather conditions.
