Palm Beach County residents are among the most generous in the state, according to a new study from financial technology website SmartAsset.
It measured how much people donate as a percentage of their net income and the proportion of people in a given county who made charitable donations.
Based on 2016 IRS data, Palm Beach is the third most charitable county in Florida, with more than 52 percent of taxpayers donating an average of 36 percent of their net income to non-profits.
Collier County, home to Naples, is the most generous county in the state. Martin and Indian River counties directly follow Palm Beach at numbers 4 and 5 respectively.
